ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ

MAGIC Rhythm youth exchange will take place from 28th July until 6th August 2014 in the city of
Aachen/Germany and the surrounding EUREGIO region (including as well the municipalities of
Liège/Belgium and Maastricht/Netherlands).

MAGIC Rhythm youth exchange raises awareness among participating youngsters about European
identities and (political) decision making both in their local communities and on a European level. The
means to explore our shared and divergent identities,we will take a deep dive into our cultures’
rhythmical traditions and create a MAGIC rhythm ourselves. Participants of the exchange will put together
a small performance that combines the elements “bodypercussion”, “singing” and «choreography/dance».

In workshops during the project, youngsters are supervised by experts from the
different fields, but also learn from each other through contributing with rhythms, dances and songs from
their home countries and communities. The final show will be performed three times in each of the three
major cities of the trinational EUREGIO: Aachen (DE), Liège (BE) and Maastricht (NL). Parallely, we will
discover through discussions and an interactive journey through the historical process of the creation of
the European Union what it means to us to be “European”.
